Abstract127 patients both from semi-urban and rural areas representing a normal population of patients in a district programme were included in the study, 43 of whom were sputum positive and for 38 of whom INH sensitivity results are available. Of these 38 patients, 18 were resistant and the rest sensitive to INH. In all 41% (52 patients) collected drugs for a period of 10 to 12 months. The drug collection was not related to initial disease status, but compared to INH sensitive patients, INH resistant patients took treatment for longer duration.
