The role of 500 mg ethionamide and 400 nig isoniazid given in a single dose orally at bed time was assessed in 45 previously untrea- ted middle aged and elderly cases of pulmo- nary tuberculosis. 90 percent suptum conversion was obtained. If those who fell out of the trial due to drug intolerance are included the conversion rate was SI.5 percent. The drugs, in the dosage given, were very well tolerated.
