Abstract

47 strains of Bacterium anitratum were isolated from the sputum of 27 patients suffering from various bronchopulmonary disorders. Multiple isolations in pure form were obtained in 7 cases. Significance of the isolations has been discussed. The drug sensitivity patterns were variable. The clinical response was not in strict conformity with the sensitivity pattern. Simultaneous presence of different varients with dissimilar sensitivity pattern, has been postula-ted. The literature on the subject has been reviewed.
