This is said to produce hissing sound when heated and hence the name. It has Astringent, Styptic and Alterative actions. According to the Traditional literatures, it heals Sexually transmitted diseases, Diarrhoea, Dysentry, Leucorrhoea, Excess body heat, piles and gives strength to the body.
