Abstract

18 volunteers and 87 proved cases of pulmonary tuberculosis were studied. The patients were getting pyrazinamide 30 mg/kg of body weight and 60 mg/kg of body weight in daily and biweekly regimen groups respectively. Serum concentration of pyrazinamide following the above mentioned dose of the drug have been studied for a period of 24 hours among volunteers. Serial serum drug concentrations were studied on initiation of treatment and at monthly interval in patients for 6 months. Serum pyrazinoic acid concentrations were simultaneously estimated in 6 volunteers and 18 patients.
