AbstractThree cases of pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis have been reported from Punjab (Northern India), two of these proved by open lung biopsy. A familial incidence was noted as two of them are real brother & sister. One case developed superadded Pulmonary Tuberculosis. 2. All the three cases were diagnosed during life. The youngest patient diagnosed during life at the age of 4 years have been reported. In him the lesions were at the earliest stage of this disease. As far as is known no case has been detected at such an early stage of this disease. 3. The clinical features, possible aetiology, pathogenesis, X-ray findings, lung function studies and course of the disease along with review of the literature has been discussed.
