Abstract

Tuberculous pleurisy with effusion developed in 3 patients during chemotherapy for pulmonary tuberculosis. All such cases were sputum positive and had demonstrated no evidence of pleural effusion clinically or radiologically, when the chemotherapy for pulmonary tuberculosis was started. Diagnosis and management of this most unusual clinical event are discussed.
