AbstractPorphyries are multifactorial genetic disorders in which environmental, genetic, and physiological factors interact to cause disease. Many of the symptoms are non-specific and diagnosis is often delayed. Laboratory testing is required to confirm or exclude the various types of porphyrias; however many of the tests are not available routinely. This article aims to create awareness regarding the common problems faced while managing this rare disorder.
