Out of a total of 400 cases, only 272 cases could be followed up during the last 1 year in Kasturba T.B. clinic, Lucknow. Of these, 112 patients defaulted 210 times during a period ranging from 4 months to 1 year. 82 cases were “lost”. The causes of default and their remedy have been discussed. The implementation of the urban T.B. control programme in the city of Lucknow is considered essential to minimise this problem.
