Even, though the impact of environment on man’s health has been known for a long time, it is only during recent years that the importance of environmental factors like Air Pollution in the development of disease has been given increasing recognition. Increasing urbanisation concommittant with explosive population growth, particularly in our country and rapid industrialisation, have resulted in increased number and variety of pollutants thrown into the air that we breathe.
