AbstractOysters are bivalved (two - shelled) soft – bodied mollusks, mostly marine or estuarine in habit. They occur in all tropical seas, mainly between tidal levels or in shallow waters near the estuaries. Review regarding the Sources, characters, chemical compositions, action and uses according to the Traditional Siddha & Ayurveda literatures, toxicity are being discussed.
