Abstract

Skin diseases are classified into eighteen types in Siddha. It includes the whole range of dermatological complaints arising out of the moods of the human mind to the various micro-organisms, vast external environment and complex endocrine and metabolic transitions within the body. Fungal infections, leucoderma, leprosy are all included within this classification. The Siddha drug Kutta chooranam inhibits the growth of the micro cultures of E.coli, Klebsiella, Staph aureus. It contains lots of tannins and anthroquinones, in the phytochemical screening.
