Abstract

Bronchography in 100 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis who had detectable residual lung lesion in plain skiagram of chest after completion of short term chemotherapy (STC) out of 156 consecutive cases in an armed forces hospital have been analysed. Fourteen patients had normal bilateral bronchogram; 62 had definite bronchiectasis and 24 had other minimal bronchographic abnormalities. It appears that STC with respiratory exercises can reduce ultimate damage to pulmonary parenchyma.
