Abstract

Medical records of 55 patients with past or present evidence of tuberculosis seen in the Antenatal Clinic over a live year period were analysed. Twenty eight patients who were given regular antitubercular treatment during pregnancy, had DO adverse effects. Of 26 patients with past tuberculosis, 8 showed reactivation of the disease during pregnancy. Obstetric outcome in these patients was normal. These patients bad received inadequate and irregular therapy ID the past. With adequate treatment, both the course of pregnancy and foetal outcome are unaltered.
