Abstract

HBsAg was positive in 12(15%) out of 80 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis and in only 2 (5%) of the 40 healthy control patients. HBsAg was more frequently found in patients with impaired cell mediated immunity and it is recommended that keeping in view the increased susceptibility of pulmonary tuberculosis patients to Hepatitis B virus extra caution must be exercised while administering drug by parenteral route.
