Abstract

Preliminary data on resistant Strains from 3 successive surveys with an average interval of 18 months between them, carried out in a random sample of 133 villages in 3 taluks of Bangalore District is presented. All those 5 years of age or more were examined by X-ray and from each eligible persons two samples of sputum were collected. Total population X-rayed numbered 54,000 and total persons eligible for sputum examination about 6,600 at round I.
