Abstract

The National Tuberculosis Control Programme (NTP) is in operation since 1962, and its quantitative achievement at present, is being monitored through records and reports received from various District Tuberculosis Centres (DTCs). These reports may not reflect the true tuberculosis situations prevailing in respective areas. Even if the accuracy of the reporting systems is further improved, it is ultimately based on indirect evidences drawn out from the reporting from different centres.
