Abstract

Our knowledge of epidemiology of tuberculosis is to a great extent derived from the analysis of material on mortality and morbidity available from the advanced countries of Europe and USA, some actually recorded and others reconstructed on the basis of the available evidence. A general information on trend of the disease obtained from the study of these data may probably be useful to understand the epidemiological situation in any country and an attempt will be made herein to extropolate them to the Indian context.
