Abstract

At the Tuberculosis Workers’ Conference in Mysore in February 1953, a preliminary report was given on a control study in which the effect of Streptomycin-Paraaminosalicylic- acid (SM-PAS) was compared with that of Streptomycin-Isoniazid (SM-INH) and Isoniazid (INH) alone. At that time the results after 24 weeks treatment were available but the investigation was not yet concluded. The present report gives the results after 40 weeks treatment and a subsequent observation period of 12 weeks, in all 52 weeks.
