AbstractThis paper is a preliminary report on 70 cases of chronic pulmonary tuberculosis treated with thoracoplasty—using the latest modifications by Semb’s technique—at WHO Thoracic Surgery Centre, Silver Jubilee Tuberculosis Hospital, Delhi, during the period June to December 1954. The series of cases is too small and the time for which they have been observed is much smaller and as such it will be imprudent to draw any dogmatic conclusions from it. However, in view of the past experience of the senior author and his colleagues in Norway,’ the results of the present series are significant enough to deserve a fair trial.
