Abstract

Tuberculosis of bones and joints have been known to mankind since the earliest days of medical history. Long before Robert Koch discovered the causative organism of tuberculosis, the disease was known as “White-swelling” “Scrofula” and various other names. The present knowledge about the disease dates from the work of Laennec Villemin and Koch.
